The Institute for Healthcare Robotics and Automation - IFOHRA for short - has its origins in the "Medical Valley" - a center in Erlangen known for its innovative strength in the healthcare sector. IFOHRA was founded in 2021 as an institute that researches the effectiveness of automation in medical facilities.
The result was quickly clear: automation and robotics is THE lever to counter the shortage of skilled workers and relieve the burden on employees. This gave rise to the idea of supporting healthcare facilities in doing just that.
Our employees come from both industry and the medical sector.
